
López Lomong is one of the Lost Boys of Sudan. He was a victim of the Second Sudanese Civil War. He was abducted at the age of 6 and recruited as a child soldier. He was assumed dead by his family. In fact, he nearly died in captivity but he managed to escape. He spent ten years in a refugee camp near Nairobi before being moved to the United States. Today he is a well-known American athlete. In 2008 he was the flag bearer for the United States delegation during the Olympic Games.
